STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN - LIVE FRENS

 

1995 - Jimmie Vaughan, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Robert Cray reunited for a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan. All five had played with Vaughan at his last show on August 26, 1990, before he was killed in a helicopter crash. This is just short of 1 hour 20 minutes of brilliance!

Recorded Live during "The Perfect Strangers Tour" At Palais Omnisports, Paris, on July 9th, 1985. Running time is 100 minutes and features the following tracks:

A well shot show from the '85 reunion tour. It's a little dark and the laser graphics don't show up too well, but the band is firing on all cylinders. Remember though, it's a 1985 show. That means Gillan's voice is pretty shot and his range is severely limited. Blackmore's on fire, but has that awful 80's tone. Still, it's a fair representation of what so many of us experienced on that tour.
